Data Scientist/ Machine Learning Engineer
My love for engineering and technology has been a driving force behind the choices I have made in my professional life. When developing cutting edge products I often find my curiosity piqued. I ask questions like "Why has this feature been used?". This has led me to look at data for answers and how much businesses were relying on data to make decisions that can significantly improve their offerings. Today I want to leverage data to make transformative business decisions that would help businesses grow.
I was recently awarded a Master's in Data Science degree from the University of Virginia and currently seeking full-time roles in the field of Data Science/Machine Learning and Analytics.
Prior to this, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and a Master's degree in Mathematics in 2015 thereafter which I joined one of the leading online travel firms in India - Goibibo, as a software engineer where I worked on developing cutting edge products for the Goibibo Android mobile app.
While working on developing products in my team, I discovered the important role data plays in dictating aspects of product development & management, and increasing customer engagement at scale as I also had the chance to work on our customer data.
I spearheaded the effort in leveraging customer journey analytics to generate actionable insights for product development and making data-driven decisions that significantly impacted our business goals like increasing revenue, higher conversion rates, personalized recommendations and improving customer experience.
I also worked on several Machine Learning projects that increased the customer lifetime value of the flight vertical like the customized offers for the customers who showed the intention of booking a flight but didn't convert.
At UVA, I had the opportunity to further strengthen my analytics skills by working on a range of data science projects – from system design and development to leveraging Machine Learning and Deep Learning across industries (finance, tech, education, etc).
Through working on such projects within a data-driven framework, I have developed a strong intuitive understanding of how data can be utilized to its maximum potential to help businesses grow. I aspire to utilize my strong background and the technical skills that I have developed as a data scientist and a software engineer to help do the same for organizations that I’m a part of.
